Answer: Yes. I work for a coal mine about 20 miles from the mine where the miners are trapped and I know two of them quite well. Don Erickson (who is also a cousin to my wife) and Luis Hernandez (who worked at our mine up until a month or so ago and left to go to the Crandall Canyon Mine) Having worked in the industry for 27+ years it becomes a pretty close-knit community.
