The Academy Awards are given out by The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The Golden Globes on the other hand are awarded by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. Also, the Academy Awards are only given out for films and their many aspects, but the Golden Globes give out award for television shows as well as films.
